1980 Ford RS 2000 Custom Enthusiast owned , iconic Ford Escort Mk2 RS2000 in show condition. Supplied new by Ford Rally Sport Dealers, V. M. W. Motors on the 1st August 1980 to a Mr John Hicks. Supplied with the original Ford service book and incredibly every MOT from new to warrant the 93, 500 miles. An A4 folder neatly displaying previous tax discs, old invoices and RS Owners Club Valuation Certificates . Polyurethane front end incorporating four Cibie quartz halogen headlamps, front air dam, rubberized tail spoiler, twin body side coach line, RS2000 decals, black door mirrors, laminated windscreen, hazard warning flashers, heated rear window, separate fuel, water temperature and oil pressure gauges, padded sun visors, two-speed heater, aeroflow ventilation with eye ball vents. RS Custom features; Recaro front seats with fishnet headrests, centre console, glovebox, quartz clock, remote control drivers door mirror, full trimmed door cards, cut pile carpeting, vanity mirror, alloy road wheels and CD Player. Finished in classic Diamond White with factory Bronze tinted glass and contrasting Chocolate interior . Excellent panel gaps all round . Correct and desirable Cibie lights are fitted to all four units and the rubberized tail spoiler in straight and undamaged. The interior has the correct Custom . The undamaged fascia and dash top houses fully functional gauges and equipment and the original simulated leather bound three spoke steering wheel remains fitted in perfect condition. The quartz clock is operational and period door speakers remain operational to a modern CD player. The original matching numbers 1993cc SOHC engine has not been modified and the engine bay is presented to show display standard. A Type-9 five speed synchromesh gearbox is fitted and widely accepted to assist modern day cruising and improved economy. The correct four speed gear knob is fitted to the interior selector.
