MG TF – Show Winning Car
In production for just two years the TF is widely considered as the most stylish of the original ‘T’ series cars with low bonnet, flowing lines, drop-down windscreen and dual-cowl bulkhead, the car brings together pre-war styling with 1950’s design.
Our 1954 example is an original UK car with 1250cc XPAG engine. Purchased by the last owner from Sherwood Restorations in 2011 the TF had just received a body-off restoration and mechanical overhaul with chassis, timber frame, floor, body panels all receiving attention where required, In addition, the red leather interior trim was replaced to original specification with new side-screens and black double duck hood. The dashboard was refurbished in original factory colour with bronze binnacle, switch gear & replacement steering wheel while the body received a high quality respray in original code deep red. The engine bay was carefully detailed to original specification and mechanical work included a rebuilt engine with new clutch, distributor, leads etc. The history folder contains a photographic record of the restoration, a variety of old MOT’s & invoices and an MG Owners Club valuation of £34, 000.
The TF looks absolutely stunning, drives superbly and has been used regularly for shows and continental tours. It will give years of pleasure and win many prizes for the lucky new owners.
