This is my Vauxhall Cavalier L,

First Registered in November 1985. The Cavalier originally started life in Stalybridge near Manchester and was bought from the Vauxhall dealership Grahams of Ashton. The Cavalier boasts 5 service stamps in the original service book also from Grahams of Ashton up to 19K miles.

As I understand it the elderly owner died in approximately 1990 which is reflected in the service book and mileage. The owners wife then left the Cavalier in their garage and forgot about it.

It was then bought by a Vauxhall enthusiast and member of the Vauxhall Cavalier owners club. It attended some car shows and was then sold to the previous owner in Milton Keynes. This owner put 10K miles on the car and gave it regular use taking it from 29K up to 39K miles.

I purchased the car on the 10/ 03/ 2012 from the previous owner in Milton Keynes. The car has still only covered 39K miles, it's within a few hundred miles of reaching 40K.

In my ownership the Cavalier has done less than 250 miles. For the first few years it didn't turn a wheel and was laid up. However this year I have given the Cavalier a major service, it's had;

- Cambelt and Water Pump
- Brake Fluid
- Rear drums stripped, cleaned and adjusted
- Oil Service
- Mechanical fuel pump
- New fuel line
- Ignition system service

The Cavalier has also benefited from a good thorough cleaning and paint restoration. It's finished in an early Vauxhall metallic paint called Fjord blue. Although like all the early metallics the paint has started to dull and cloud very slightly on the roof and bonnet but this doesn't detract from the condition.

The interior compliments the exterior with blue trims and light grey/ blue cloth interior. All the switches/ linkages function correctly and smoothly. It has the original Phillips stereo/ tape deck and the electrically operated aerial.

The only sympathetic modification I've made is a set of German 35mm lowering springs all round. The reason being that the front shock absorbers and springs were replaced previously which left the car sitting really high on the front end. The car now sits level and also is a much better drive on the road with far less body roll. The original springs will be sold with the Cavalier.

The Cavalier has its original dealership supplied Vauxhall mud flaps. The original owners handbook and even the original purchase receipt and PDI checklist for the first owner. I also have a retail price guide from the time of purchase. The original 13" wheel trims are in immaculate condition.

If you're interested in the Cavalier best thing to do is come and have a look at it and see it for yourself or even send me an email or give me a call.

It really has to be one of the best MK2 Cavaliers left in existence.
