Immaculately restored 1944 Willys MB to represent 'La Guepe' (The Wasp), of No. 4 Free French SAS.
Painstakingly researched to be correct in every detail. La Guepe was one of only a handful of SAS Jeeps dropped by glider in WW2. Ground up restoration, everything restored or replaced with new (NOS where available). Rebuilt WW2 engine, carb, box, transfer box, steering, axles and chassis. New body, wiring loom, wheels and tyres, brakes, clocks, switches, seats, rad, starter, dynamo, brake and fuel lines, fuel tank, lights, etc. etc. A full list of parts and all the work done available, got a huge pile of receipts! Needs nothing doing. SAS modifications include: cut down grill and bumper, Butler black out light, reinforced bonnet with spare and handle, custom made bustle rack, Bren wing mount, modified PLM mount with twin Vickers Ks, rear mount with single Vickers K, wing mounted 'Dom' dressing pack, (dummy) spare fuel tank, deep mud exhaust, wing mounted Jerry can holder, Armoured Car searchlight, Airborne steering wheel, Lucas dash mounted horn button and more...
Comes with 3 metal replica Vickers Ks and 7 drum mags, deactivated Daimler built Bren gun, 2 Bren metal ammo boxes full of mags, 2 wooden . 303 ammo boxes, WW2 dated British jerry can, rare WW2 British water can, WW2 dated 'liberated' German jerry can, airborne recognition panel, canvas Bren cover, wartime shovel and pick axe, grease gun, oil can and starting handle.
