The air-cooled Porsche 993 Carrera 4 was arguably Porsche’s finest ever incarnation of the legendary 911 series, with its wonderful 4-wheel drive surefootedness. The 993 retained the familiar classic lines of the earlier Porsches which had attracted the admiration of sports car enthusiasts all over the world. Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches, with the 993 being not just the last air-cooled 911, but also the last of the hand-built 911 series.
You will not feel any difference behind the wheel of the Carrera 4 compared to the rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera. In every situation, and at all speeds, its agility and handling give you the confidence inspired by perfection. The power of the 911 is the key active safety feature. The impressive flexibility of the engine and its generous torque gives ample reserves of power. You will frequently find yourself driving one or two gears higher than in other cars, thanks to the engine’s wide power band. Engine power from this Varioram model is 285 BHP, and 0 - 62 mph is achieved in just 5. 3 seconds. The Carrera 4 can be instantly recognised with white indicator covers at the front, and red at the rear. The brake calipers are titanium colour and the Carrera 4 logo is also found on the tail and gear lever inlay.
Supplied new by JCT 600 Porsche in August 1997, this car has a very good history file, service book which includes 15 official Porsche service stamps, service invoices, all its historic MOT’s and the original spare keys and red alarm programming key. The original new car invoice (£67, 310) is also in the history file. A comprehensive 12-month RAC warranty and new MOT are included.
