Ford XR4i – Original/ Low Miles/ Low Ownership
The Ford Sierra was first unveiled on 22 September 1982. The aerodynamic styling was an “acquired taste” and initially sales were disappointing. In 1983, the high-performance XR4i version was introduced. It utilised the same 2. 8 Cologne engine as used in the Ford Capri 2. 8 Injection and sported a restyled version of the 3-door Sierra body-shell. The double rear spoiler and multi-pillared rear windows designed has aged well and today the car provides an excellent entry point to Fast Ford ownership
Anne Sweeney purchased her new XR4i on 28th February 1984 from Wyedean Motors, Gloucestershire for a total price of £9, 166. Extra’s included metallic paint, sunroof & tinted glass. The stamped service book and MOT’s back to 1988 indicate that the car has now covered a warranted 62, 000 from new and has clearly been carefully maintained by the five previous owners.
Today the original Strato Silver bodywork is in excellent condition with original Ford panels and glass. Mechanically the car has been regularly serviced from new and on the road the car drives superbly with the deep 2. 8 Cologne sound track. The grey interior is in excellent condition - sitting in the car is like stepping back to the 1980’s - and the history folder contains MOT’s back to 1988, stamped service book, all instruction/ audio manuals, invoices and a variety of XR Owners Club literiture.
Original condition, unmolested, warranted mileage, low ownership – this car really does tick all the boxes. With the value of all XR's rising fast we expect this lovely car to find a new home very quickly.
