motodrome are pleased to offer this 1998/ S reg Land Rover Defender 50th Anniversary Special Edition, as usual finished in Atlantis Metallic.
This one is GB089, one of the 385 sold in the UK. .
As far as both ourselves and the 50th register are aware, GB089 is the only 50th that was prepared for overlanding expeditions, and we know from it’s previous owner 2002-12 that it went to Iceland and inside the Arctic Circle during his time with it. We supplied it in 2013 whereupon it went into honourable retirement pottering around Wiltshire with a very enthusiastic owner from whom it came back in 2016, having refurbished the vehicle significantly during his ownership, to the tune of approx £13000. We then supplied it again to a Defender enthusiast, and it’s just come back to us again in part exchange for a well-tuned TDCi (he needed a manual to teach his daughter to drive)
The factory specification includes - automatic transmission, anti-roll bars, air conditioning) , sunroof, pewter alloy wheels with set of 5 BF Goodrich LT265/ 75 R16 MT tyres , factory rollcage, A bar, chequerplate, cubbybox, , lowered rear bulkhead, alarm/ immobiliser, mudflaps, and towpack mounted on NAS-style rear step, and full length stainless steel sidesteps.
The warranted mileage of 112000 miles is supported by history from the very rare original build manifest onwards. Main dealer serviced until 64K, thereafter by specialists, all invoices available , all old MOT’s together with the original 50th anniversary portfolio. Head gaskets replaced.
Upgrades as follows: fitted with the Tornado chip, an 18 month old Warn XD9000i winch with remote control mounted on winch bumper, Old Man Emu springs / shocks all round (with a 40mm lift), stainless exhaust, underbody guards, , high lift jack, auxiliary LightForce lights, auxiliary long-range fuel tank, light guards front & rear, access ladder, swingaway spare wheel carrier, & JVC radio/ CD with USB port, and motolita steering wheel. .
It comes with MOT (no advisories) to September 2018 and 6 months warranty, and it’s rather lovely throughout.
