Vauxhall Velox ‘E’ Series – Superb Cruiser
Introduce in August 1951 the Velox reflected the trans-Atlantic space age styling so popular throughout the 1950’s. The car was a direct competitor to the Ford Zodiac and benefitted from a superb straight six engine, bold body design with lots of chrome and stylish ‘Rock & Roll’ interior. Unfortunately, the American design included lots of rust traps with zero rust protection and today good examples are extremely rare and highly desirable
Milestone Classics are delighted to offer for sale this remarkable 1957 Vauxhall Velox finished in two-tone Empress Blue/ Vista Blue with blue interior. The previous owner, an automotive engineer, has maintained the Velox to an extremely high standard. The car starts first time and is an absolute delight to drive with super smooth engine, excellent column gear change, steering and brakes plus that lovely straight six exhaust burble
The Velox retains her original Nottinghamshire registration and the history file contains various correspondence, summary of previous owners, invoices, MOT’s, buff logbook, and rare driver’s handbook. The paper work indicates that the Velox was resprayed, re-upholstered and re-wired in the mid 1980’s and she still presents extremely well having been used for shows by the previous owner
The paint does have some micro-blistering caused by dampness when the work was originally completed in 1987 and we have reflected this in the price. The new owner could grab a bargain and simply enjoy the car as is or use the money saved to have the paint work rectified at some point in the future.
Ready to cruise we expect this rare car to find an appreciative custodian quickly
