Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this special Boxster Black Edition, which enjoys the manual 6-speed transmission and is presented in Jet Black with black leather seats.
The third-generation Boxster was announced at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show with sales starting early summer 2012. The new Boxster reflected the new design language from the 991 and 918, and featured new and revised engine and transmission specifications.
In addition to the new body, the type 981 Boxster features a new chassis which was 40 per cent more torsionally-rigid, the front track is 40mm wider, the rear 18mm wider and the wheelbase extended by 60mm, although managing to gain a small weight reduction of up to 35 kilograms compared to the previous type 987 Boxster.
The 2. 7 litre flat six 981is held in high esteem with the Porsche purists as this was the last of the naturally aspirated engines before the successor to a smaller, 2. 0 litre, flat four turbo charged power plant. The Boxster Black Edition’s main feature is the deep-black colour covering its exterior from bumper to bumper.
Both the soft-top and the roll-over hoops are finished in black for a consistent look with the top up or down. Rounding off this exclusive exterior is a set of 20-inch, Carrera Classic wheels, and the bi-Xenon headlamps with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and blacked-out housings.
Our two-owner example was sold in March 2016 by Porsche Centre Silverstone, (making it a very late registered normally-aspirated car) and is sold with the balance of the manufacturer’s warranty.
