Description
MGB Roadster Mk1 – Pull Handle/ Overdrive
The MGB roadster is one of the most recognisable British sports cars ever manufactured. It brought affordable fun to the open road when launched in 1962 and over the next 18 years over 500, 000 cars were sold.
Milestone Classics are delighted to offer to market this exceptional early pull-handle example. Manufactured during September 1964 and registered in Bath on 25th March 1965 she is one of the earliest roadsters we have had through Milestones and is the classic combination of British Racing Green, chrome bumpers, wire wheels, black/ white piped interior and non-reversing light body-shell.
On the road the car drives extremely well with good oil pressure, factory handling (unlike many restored cars that squeak/ rattle) with absolutely no untoward mechanical noises or smoke. The cylinder head has been upgraded for unleaded fuel and the overdrive unit engages & disengages quickly.
The car has been the subject of an older restoration and presents extremely well with no evidence of corrosion on wing seams, doors bottoms or sills, outstanding panel fit and stunning BRG paint. The interior is equally as good with original specification seat covers/ foams, door cards, carpets, vinyl hood and has the benefit of a folding hood frame.
In summary, this is an excellent opportunity to own an early, highly desirable roadster in remarkable condition that will give years of pleasure to the lucky new owner
