Ford Anglia “Super” – Time Warp Example
The new Anglia 105E, was introduced in 1959. Its American-influenced space age styling included a backward slanting rear window/ sweeping nose line & new Kent 997cc engine the car quickly became a commercial success. The “Super” arrived in 1962 and benefitted from the larger 1198cc engine, two tone paint work, full wheel trims and improved interior
Supplied new by F. English of Bournemouth on 30th March 1966 this stunning car has had just five owners from new and never left Hampshire, simply being retained by the same family or sold on to friends and neighbours as circumstances changed. After a period of time in storage the car was recommissioned in 1986 and in 1989 received a (short) engine rebuild (now covered 10, 000miles). In early 2005 a mechanical inspection and body strip down was completed - work included brakes, suspension, tyres and a new stainless exhaust was fitted. By 2015 the original paint was looking a little tired and the super fastidious owner commission a resprayed in the original Spruce Green & White colour scheme – my personal favourite. There is a full photographic record of all the work undertaken and the final result is a real credit to him
The interior is absolutely as it left the factory with lovely original seats, door cards, carpets, and excellent headlining. The history folder includes lots of photographs, MOT’s back to 1986, old tax discs, various invoices and a hand written summary of work completed. In addition there is the original hand book, parts list, old V5s and the original buff log book
We inspect lots of Anglia’s and this is the best we have ever seen. She drives superbly, has strong mechanics, is body colour underneath with all original body panels, lovely interior and nice history file
Anglia prices have rocketed in the last two years and this lovely example will provide lots of happy memories and provide an excellent investment to her lucky new owner.
