This stunning, very correct MGC GT was first registered on the 1st January 1969 and is presented in its original colour scheme of Snowberry White with Black upholstery. The C is just one of 335 Automatic models built for the UK home market and was supplied new by H. W Motors Ltd, Walton on Thames. This C comes with history from new to include passport to service book with early dealer stamps, MOT certificates and service receipts verifying the mileage of 87, 500. We sold the car to the most recent owner who has spent in the region of £4, 000 on enhancements to include power assisted steering, suspension conversion from kings pins to ball joints and electronic ignition.
Whilst the MGC is largely original, it was subject of some cosmetic work during the late 1980's and 1990's to include a full body strip down and re-paint in the orginal colour. A comprehensive file of reciepts show that the four previous owners have maintained this car to the highest of standards. The most recent owner has taken the car to the next level, carefully detailing it and ensuring it is in a condition for it to be exhibited at shows. The paintwork is beautiful and has been carefully polished to ensure a first class gleam and finish. The chrome work is first class throughout the car, the painted wire wheels are excellent and the engine bay has had hours and hours spent taking it to a very high standard. Inner wings are excellent, the engine unit and ancillaries nicely detailed and the boot floor/ spare wheel well is equally as impressive. The interior has a quality feel with lovely leather, superb dasboard, high quality mats, carpets, underlay and gleaming white floors. WPH 538G presents superbly and importantly has an excellent bodyshell with straght panels, sharp wheel arches and no rust issues.
On the road this C is top class. The 3 litre engine sounds and performs superbly holding excellent oil pressure. The automatic gearbox is effortless, super smooth and offers a very relaxed driving experience. The car feels tight with excellent light steering, sharp brakes and handling is absoloutley right with the benefit of the front suspension upgrade. WPH 538G is a fabulous driver and is ideal for long distance touring keeping up with modern traffic, holding the road superbly and the relaxed nature of the automatic gearbox. This is a very impressive motor car with a wonderful mix of originality and high detailed finishing in order for it to present as a recent restoration.
