The Porsche 911 GT2 is a high-performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car primarily intended for racing. It is descended from an illustrious line of high-performance models, which began with the 1973 911 Carrera RS. The GT2 is named after the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Group GT2 class in which it was designed to compete. Porsche also offered an RS version of the 997 GT2. In common with its predecessors, it provided a homologation model for use in a range of racing series.
A Porsche 911, with 611bhp and 516lb ft. It is the fastest 911 ever to leave the factory. The base engine was identical to the 997 GT2, but ran different turbochargers, new intercoolers, new pistons and a new engine management system to run 1. 6 bar of boost, over the last car’s 1. 4 bar. Claimed performance was 0-62 mph in 3. 5 sec, 0-100 mph in 6. 8 secs and a Nordschleife, Nürburgring lap time of just 7 min 18 sec. All the carbon fibre components, plus plastic rear and side windows shaved 70kg of weight from the previous GT2.
This 2011 model year GT2 RS was supplied by Porsche Centre Fréjus, France, and has been fully maintained by the supplying dealer and more recently by Porsche Centre West London. In immaculate order, this special car is ready to be enjoyed.
