A rare two owner Italian market RHD Sport in beautiful condition.
History of this car
This desirable Lancia is a factory right hand drive tipo 818. 651 model supplied new to Genoa on 11/ 07/ 1972 to an elderly owner who presumably thought only real Lancias come in right hand drive!
The supplying dealer was concessionaire L’auto and their dealer pouch and warranty papers remain with the car.
According to the accompanying PRA report on the Sport, it has had only the two owners from new and has always lived in Genoa until imported by us recently.
A repaint and de-bumpering aside, it remains a highly original car and is finished in it’s delivery livery of so stylish pastel yellow over a black interior. The low recorded mileage of 57, 000 klms is believed to be the genuine mileage from new given the remarkable unrestored condition of the Zagato.
The car will be supplied with an age related UK registration (in your name as the only owner if you’re quick!!)
Body
This is a great looking car. The Ercole Spada designed body has been refinished at some point in it’s original colour and makes for a strong first impression. This is a late Sport and thus is all steel. All panel fits and closures are factory crisp and there are no marks or chips to the paint of any note.
The glass and trim are all excellent (in particular the door handles are like new, very rare on a Fulvia). Our car was debumpered in the past and has proper blanking plates fitted. The original bumpers accompany the car.
Rust as we know is the bug bear of this model and this car is very much the exception to the rule. The chassis is rust and rust repair free, including the vulnerable subframe and subframe mount points and the body shows no signs of any corrosion whatsoever. Very rare indeed!
Mechanics
Our car drives spot on with a powerful engine, and excellent transmission. The engine has reputedly been rebuilt in the past and is in good tune.
The Sport has just been serviced with new oil and filter, plugs and 4 new Pirelli Cinturato tyres fitted to freshly painted wheels and new chrome wheel nuts.
The engine bay is super clean and nicely detailed.
Although MOT exempt, we have an advisory free new MOT on this car until May 2019.
Interior
This is generally lovely with fresh black carpeting, original seating and an uncracked dashboard with unfogged gauges.
Boot
In mint condition with spare wheel, wheel cover, strap, correct Battaini jack and full toolkit in place.
Summary
A rare chance obtain a superb unmessed with RHD Sport. This model is appreciating fast and this must be one of the best left. Supplied with original owner’s manual, dealer pouch, warranty papers and ASI certification.
