The Appeal
The Impala has gone down as one of the most iconic American cars ever built - and it’s really of little wonder. These big, brash motors boasted a selection of impressive specs - mostly focusing on whopping great V8 powerplants - and generous lashings of chrome, all coming together to express the best of the iconic mid-century American land-liner.
This example, built in 1960, was restored by enthusiasts in the Netherlands back in the 90s. That restoration has held up incredibly well, and results in one of the best examples of a 2nd-gen Impala that we’ve had at Car & Classic.
The History and Paperwork
- Built in 1960 at Chevrolet’s Atlanta, Georgia plant
- We note the Champ Chevrolet badge to the rear of the car
- If this is original, it dictates the car’s original sale in Chamblee, Georgia
- Imported to the Netherlands in 1993
- From here on in, the car was comprehensively restored
- Complete with export NL registration
- Currently indicates 18,521 miles on a five-figure odometer
- Sadly we can’t authenticate the car’s true mileage
