The Appeal

Introduced in 1960, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III was the car for the elite. Smooth-riding, powerful, and with a highly distinguished profile, it's the Silver Cloud that often comes to mind when even the layman thinks of a Rolls-Royce.

This fine example has considerable extra appeal because it was owned by a man inextricably entwined with the marque.  It was the pride and joy of none other than John Dodd, the late and much-loved creator of the astonishing Rolls-Royce-engined 'Beast.'  A well regarded authority in the Rolls-Royce community with his own specialist repair business, any marque models owned by him naturally carry a considerable provenance. 

We are told that alongside The Beast this was one of his favourite cars and he spent many, many hours maintaining and curating it.  It is in very good condition and looks ready for a new buyer who will love and enjoy it to a similarly high standard.   

History and Paperwork

• Manufactured in 1965
• The DVLA records 3 previous keepers
• Repatriated to the UK in 2005
• The DVLA also informs that current ownership began in 2012
• Owned and maintained by John Dodd until he sadly passed away in 2022
• Since then, it's been in family ownership
• Some paperwork is available for the car

The Condition

• The car is in good condition considering its age
• Good, tight bodywork with no visible dents or dings
• Paintwork does however show some light wear
• Some paint loss and scrapes to the car's wheel arches
• Chromework carries a light patina
• Car is sat on its original colour-matched wheels
• Fitted with Avon tyres
• Underside looks solid with no meaningful areas of corrosion
• Internally, the car is in fine fettle
• Attractive silver-grey leather upholstery with no signs of rips or tears
• Nicely presented walnut fascias in very good order
• A modern Sony music unit has been fitted
• All the electric windows work, so do the wipers and power steering
• Sunroof is latching correctly
• Carpets in good order
• Headlining shows some discolouration around the sunroof

• The car starts easily from cold on the first turn of the key, and idles evenly
