The Appeal

The final chrome bumper Silver Shadows got the revised ‘flared arch’ body style, a short-lived combination that is particularly popular with enthusiasts. This very tidy ‘76 is one of those car and looks resplendent in Regency Bronze metallic over dark chocolate leather. 
The vendor tells us that he acquired it earlier this year and has recommissioned it after long-term storage. That work has included a brake overhaul, engine service and a/c service, including converting to R134a gas. 
The car presents very nicely across the interior and exterior. The condition and running order is confirmed by a recent German TUV test. The car is registered as a historic vehicle in Germany. 
The vendor says: 
“All in all, this is a good classic car in good shape, well-maintained, and with good history. All original handbooks and stamped service book is available and the car comes with all 4 original keys. Old MOTs and instructions are included.”

History and Paperwork

  • Registered as a RHD car on 3rd September 1976
  • Vendor reports seven keepers
  • However, he understand the car was in same family for many years
  • Purchased by the current owner in Spring 2025
  • Previously in storage for nearly ten years with rare use
  • Passed German TÜV (MOT) without any faults on 29th August 2025 
  • Registered in Germany as a historic vehicle
  • Low running costs with reduced tax and insurance we are told

The Condition

  • Finished in Regency Bronze Metallic which we understand to be factory correct
  • Paintwork appears in smart condition for its age with some evidence of repainting 
  • Vendor has provided paint depth reports in photos 
  • Some small areas of lacquer cracking around door handles
  • Car also displays some very minor stone chips
  • White banded tyres recently fitted 
  • Steel wheels with body colour chrome hub caps 
  • Very clean dark brown Connolly leather seats
  • Optional lambswool overrugs in clean condition
  • Woodwork shows some signs of age, especially on the rear door wood
  • All electrical systems working, including the electric front seat adjustment, we are told 
  • All window lifts functioning, though rear ones are slightly slow, says the seller 

The Mechanics

  • 6.75-litre V8 engine
  • 3-speed automatic transmission
  • Engine starts first time, every time says seller 
  • Engine runs smoothly and gear changes are very good, we are told 
  • Recent brake overhaul with new brake pads 
  • Comprehensive service, including oil and filter change in 2025
  • Air conditioning was completely cleaned and converted to R134a recently 
  • Recently passed German TUV inspection
