THE APPEAL

What's not to love about this 1989 E30 3-Series 325i Convertible? It is in excellent condition, following a body restoration which included new genuine BMW wings and arches. The paintwork is fantastic, and since the restoration, the car has never been taken out in the wet, which has kept it in such lovely condition.

Finding a 325i 3-Series in any Saloon, Touring or Convertible, which doesn’t need a great deal of work to it, is quite a task nowadays. That makes this somewhat of a rare find, and lucky for you, it’s available just in time for the fast-approaching warmer months.

The seats are in excellent condition for the age of the vehicle and show a small amount of patina
Door cards are excellent, with no scuffs or damage.
There have been some speakers fitted in the rear quarter panel cards
The rear seat is in excellent order, with no real wear to be seen
The carpets look to be in good condition
Dashboard is free from any splits or cracks
The instruments are said to work correctly, including the clock
The ABS light is reported to come on intermittently but then go off when the instruments are tapped. This has not been investigated further
The odometer shows a reading of 127,948 miles
Upgraded Pioneer radio cassette with removable face

Swage trims are nice and straight
Window surrounds and trims are in excellent condition
Rear lights are free from any splits or cracks
The roof is excellent and operates correctly
BMW factory mudflaps
BBS wheels are excellent, with no apparent signs of corrosion to the faces and just a few minor age related marks, but no damage
There is a small amount of water ingress to the centre caps
A matching set of new tyres have been used for just a few miles

THE MECHANICS

2.5 litre straight-six
Automatic gearbox
The car is reported to start up and run with no issues
It is said to pull strongly through the gears, which have a smooth change
No untoward noises are said to be coming from the engine or transmission
There don’t appear to be any leaks coming from the engine, gearbox, or differential
The underside has had any lose underseal removed with a wire brush wheel and then been recoated to futureproof it
The vendor reports it has not been driven in the wet whilst in his ownership
The brakes bring the car to a halt in a straight line
