The Appeal
It took BMW a little time to catch up with the 1980s’ Quattro-initiated all-wheel-drive craze, but when the firm unveiled the 325 ‘Allrad’ at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1985, it was game on. By splitting power 37/63 front-to-rear, the new ‘X’ drivetrain kept the rear-drive bias associated with classic Munich legends while adding the surefootedness of those rally-stage rivals.
Despite those qualities, the X drivetrain wasn’t a huge seller, which makes this 325iX Touring a rare find. It is fitted with the 5spd manual box and is a really tidy example that is largely original. The photos show it with refurbished AC Schnitzer five spoke alloys, but the originals are included. The silver paintwork, OEM body kit - to accommodate the wider track - and the grey fabric interior are very well kept as can be checked in the photos.
The vendor tells us that this is a two-keeper car and that he bought it 13 years ago. We’re told he put the car back on the road; work included new gas tank, breaks, timing belt, fluids, brake and fuel lines. The current TÜV runs to July 2026.
The vendor says:
“Close to perfect condition as the pictures tell. No surprises to expect; I would drive it anywhere today, if I wasn't locked by family. Original wheels come with it, tyres too old. Please note the original unused spare wheel. Selling hurts.”
