The Appeal

The Mexican-market Volkswagen Beetle represents the final chapter of one of the most recognisable cars ever made, continuing in production long after European assembly ceased. With fuel injection, front disc brakes, and heated screens, these later examples offer improved everyday usability while retaining the air-cooled character that has captivated generations.

This 1998 example was imported from Mexico by specialist dealer Beetles UK and served as their demonstrator. It wears the famous Herbie livery, complete with blue and red stripes and '53' roundels, and carries the cherished registration H13RBE, a combination that, according to the vendor, brings a smile to everyone who sees it.

Showing 83,801 km, it comes with a partial service history file has recently been serviced by Kell Green Classics, with tappets set and cam cover gaskets replaced, we are told.
