The Appeal

Mercedes-Benz was the first manufacturer to fit a supercharger to a road car, and Stuttgart's engineers have stood by the technology for decades since. The CLK230 Kompressor Coupe combined elegant Mercedes grand touring styling with the supercharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine. Finding one with the rare five-speed manual gearbox makes this a particularly appealing prospect.
