The Jaguar XJ series is renowned for providing a legendary combination of performance and comfort, with specific attention to classic Jaguar luxury along the way. This particular example is of course a Sovereign, designated as such for its high spec, further enhanced by the long wheelbase (LWB) configuration. 

This Jaguar is also an incredibly low mileage example, boasting just 15k on the clock, with only 2 former owners. If you’re looking for an original, low-mileage example of the luxurious Sovereign, this is a rare opportunity you can’t afford to pass on. 

Originally supplied by Lancaster Sevenoaks, this Sovereign has been enjoyed by just the 2 former keepers, covering a remarkable 15k over the years. This low mileage figure is supported by the MOT history, which shows a distance of just over 1800 miles covered since 2006. 

As a result of the low mileage shown, the vehicle has of course required very little in the way of maintenance and repairs. The same trend seemingly extends to servicing, which is covered by 4 stamps within the included service booklet. Also included with the vehicle are the original invoices, previous MOT certificates, the Jaguar booklet wallet, and 3 sets of keys. 

Upon opening the doors, you’re greeted with a very well-preserved interior, packed with gorgeous Jaguar styling and luxury comforts. The cabin truly does reflect the low mileage covered, presenting this Sovereign’s interior as one of the tidiest going. 

In fact, one of the only obvious signs of any wear throughout the cabin can be found with the driver’s seat, which shows an incredibly minor amount of wear to the side bolster. The passenger seats, on the other hand, appear to have hardly been used, and certainly wouldn’t look out of place next to brand new units on a shelf. 

Interior trim pieces and details seemingly follow suit, showing very few signs of age. There are incredibly minor marks on the wooden details although these are seemingly noticeable only upon incredibly close inspection. The rear passenger handle could also benefit from a new plastic cover, although this really is a minor detail.  

As this highly specced Sovereign is packed with luxury comforts and features, buyers will be pleased to know that all electronics within the cabin are believed to be in full working order. In addition to this, controls seemingly show no noticeable wear to contact points, further supporting the low mileage figure shown. 

Carpeting throughout the vehicle appears to be mostly free from defects, likely befitting from the double floor mats over the top. There is a minor mark near the rear left footwell, although this would very likely be alleviated with professional detail. The headliner does appear to be sagging rather significantly, although this is more a sign of the aging factory adhesive rather than lack of care. 

The vast majority of the exterior reflects a similar condition to that of the interior; well preserved and in keeping with the vehicle’s low mileage. Unfortunately, the car now shows a few dents from roof tiles falling onto the vehicle during a storm. As pictured, these dents are towards the rear of the car on the boot, just behind the rear windscreen and the back right quarter. Otherwise, the car’s paint appears to be in excellent condition with only a few front-end chips and marks from use. 

Moving around the vehicle, badging, glass, and lights appear to be free from damage. Unlike some other vehicles of equal age, the chrome details and brightwork has been very well preserved over the years, offering a brilliant level of shine against the metallic paintwork. 

The vehicle sits on the original set of 16” alloy wheels, which likely also show their original finish. The wheels look fantastic for their age, showing only minor marks and the usual stubborn brake dust. As an added bonus, the wheels sport a matching set of  Pirelli tyres, although the age of these may prompt replacements in the future. 

Jaguar’s AJ-V8 has achieved a near legendary reputation over the years, known for being a trusty and characterful powerplant used across the Jaguar range. This 4L variant offers buckets of torque, and pairs well with the automatic transmission for a very smooth drive. 

The current keeper happily reports that the vehicle starts and drives as intended, with no known faults to note. Thanks to the low mileage covered and prior servicing, the vehicle has required very little over the years and is now ready to be enjoyed once more. 

This Jaguar Sovereign is arguably one of the lower mileage examples you’re likely to find within today’s market and shows off its original finish with pride.
