The History and Paperwork

• The 90 is a UK supplied model first registered in September 2004
• The first owner retained the Land Rover until 2008 
• The Land Rover had covered around 81,000 miles at this time
• The current owner acquired the Land Rover in April 2014
• At this juncture the 90 had covered around 143,000 miles
• In their near nine-year ownership, the current owner has added around 45,000 miles
• The Land Rover appears to have been diligently maintained throughout its history
• The paperwork includes the V5 in the name of the owner
• A number of previous MOTs are present verifying the mileage progression
• The previous MOT expired in March 2023
• The original Land Rover book pack and folder are present
• A good number of maintenance and parts invoices are included
• The most recent of these details a service undertaken in August 2022
  
  

The Interior

• The interior of this 90 has aged very well and appears in an original condition
• The seats feature Exmoor “chequer plate” patterned fabric seats
• The front seats are in a good overall condition and include headrests
• The vinyl to the side of the driver’s seat is a little cracked and worn
• Rear seats are individual folding items 
• These can seat up to four or be removed as required
• The cabin flooring is courtesy of hard-wearing black carpet
• In the front this is protected by protective rubber mats
• The original headliner looks to be tightly fitted and in good, overall condition
• The dashboard is standard Land Rover Defender fare 
• The instrument binnacle is a standard affair but sits behind a two spoke steering wheel
• The centre contains a Kenwood radio and CD player head unit
• A pair of speakers are fitted to the bottom edge of the dashboard
• A commodious, lidded central storage cubby is fitted 
• This also features twin cup holders to its front edge

The Exterior

• The Land Rover presents in a bright silver livery
• This is punctuated with generous amounts of black painted chequer plate
• Tubular side bars with chequer plate steps are fitted and finished in black
• A full height snorkel is fitted to the offside flank
• Heavy duty light guards are fitted to both front and rear
• Rubber, heavy-duty mud flaps are fitted all round
• At the rear the spare wheel and tyre is mounted to the side hinged rear door
• The County is fitted with 16-inch Land Rover Boost alloy wheels
• These are in a good overall condition with just the centre caps having lost some paint
• The rear windows feature a heavy privacy tint
• At the rear an adjustable height tow hitch is fitted together with single electrics
• A matching set of recent looking Goodyear Wrangler tyres are fitted
• These are chunky, off-road items in 235/85 configuration 
• The spare tyre affixed to the rear door is a General Grabber item

The Mechanics

• This Land Rover 90 is fitted with the durable TD5 engine introduced in 1998
• At this time this was an all-new 2.5-litre, five-cylinder in-line turbodiesel engine
• Power was up on its predecessor to 122bhp at 4,850rpm
• The all-important torque was up to 221Ib-ft at a mere 1,950rpm
• In this example this is fed to all four wheels via a five-speed gearbox
• A high / low transfer box is also fitted for optimum off-road capability
• The engine bay of this example looks admirably original throughout
• The inner panels all look straight, clean and free of corrosion
• The underside of the Land Rover looks very well presented for this type of vehicle
• The axles appear to be well finished with a preservative treatment
• There seems to be a good level of maintenance paperwork included
• No known mechanical issues have been reported
