The Appeal
If you want a saloon car with a F1-inspired, naturally aspirated V10 drivetrain, then your choices are… er… one of these. Since the launch of the E60, some other large executive cars have benefitted from a V10, but none have been either directly inspired by an F1 team or offer anywhere near the delight you get from this howling super-saloon.
This example has been well cared for and presents with low indicated mileage and a fine service record. If you’re in the market for a performance saloon that can genuinely give a period supercar a scare, then this would be a fine choice.

The Interior
- Black extended Merino leather upholstery looks to be in excellent order, with some creasing to the seats, but otherwise little evidence of wear
- Complementary black carpets and velour floor mats present well, with no staining or significant wear we could see
- Anthracite headliner appears to be undamaged, secure and with no staining
- Electrically operated, heated front seats with two-memory function
- Electric glass sunroof, windows and door mirrors
- Brushed aluminium cabin trim appears to be in excellent condition, with no major blemishes or damage apparent

- Automatic dual zone air conditioning / climate control

- CD/Radio system with CD changer and DVD player, aux connection in the rear compartment

The Exterior
- Silver Grey Metallic paintwork shows very well, with only a few minor blemishes and some stone chips to the leading edge of the bonnet
- External trim and badging all looks to be presents and correct, showing in fine condition
- Adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights
- Optional M-Sport rear spoiler
- Original Style 135 19-inch alloy wheels appear to be free from kerb damage or lacquer peel
- Continental tyres (285-section rear and 255-section front) which look to be in nice condition with good tread
- Underneath looks nice and solid, with no damage we could discern, just some surface corrosion to the drivetrain components
- Although the wheels are free from kerb damage they do have some blistering on all four wheels as you can see in the close up photos of the wheels.
The Mechanics
- 4,999cc naturally aspirated V10 offering 507hp to the rear wheels
- SMG 7-speed automated manual with paddle shift and 11 shift modes
- Screaming 8,250rpm redline, claimed 0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds
- Launch control function
- The vendor tells us that the car is in good mechanical order and has not reported any faults or issues
Summary
Chris Bangle’s E60 design has stood the test of time well, and is now a truly collectible and sought after machine in M5 trim. This handsome, low mileage example would make a superb addition to any garage.
