The Appeal
Penned by one of Britain’s most highly regarded automotive designers Ian Callum, the X150 looked both contemporary and retro, taking cues from its ancestor, the irrefutably pretty Jaguar E-Type. It wasn’t all show either, as under the bonnet lurked the 4.2-litre variant of Jaguar’s capable AJ-V8 engine.
Convertible variants were popular amongst reviewers and here we have very well presented 2006 example. Boasting a high specification, this XK has been in present ownership since June 2022 and is now offered for sale as it is surplus to the vendor’s requirements having taken delivery of a company car. They have undertaken quite a few improvements during their time with the car, most notably including a new air conditioning unit at the cost of around £2,500. Its MOT runs until June 2024, so the car is ready to be enjoyed by its next custodian.

- The paintwork is very good overall, especially for a car of this age and mileage
- The vendor points out some paint flaking to the rear of the offside sill which they have had a quote of £300 to refinish it
- The bodywork looks to be really straight, with no damage or signs of structural corrosion
- All the trim and badging presents well
- Alloy wing mirrors and vents (upgraded)
- The soft top roof operates correctly and the fabric appears in fine order
- So far as we could see, the underside is in nice condition
- The ten-spoke ‘bolted’ alloy wheels all look great and are shod with low-profile tyres

Summary
The X150 XK is one of our favourite 21st century Jaguars and this convertible is in fantastic order for its age. If you’re looking for a fun daily driver, or else a convertible GT for touring the continent, this big cat ticks all the right boxes.
