Introduced in 2007, the GTC was the long-awaited convertible variant of Bentley’s thundersome Continental GT.
Based on the same platform and sharing its thumping 552bhp twin-turbocharged W12 engine, the GTC was Bentley’s open-top flagship. Today, it has to be one of the most incredible luxury bargains going – finely engineered and opulently equipped, you can now enjoy the finest in motoring for a fraction of the original cost.
This one has to be one of the best GTCs on the market right now thanks to its low mileage, having covered just over 65,000 miles from new in the hands of two owners, and having been maintained by a Bentley main dealer for most of its life, other than a recent independent service. It’s a remarkably smart and well-presented example that has been flawlessly maintained. vtjNbFAJKKl1ihkpuoaLDFCvCBfI9yLoUwxpeS2m.jpeg1.34 MB
THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK
Full main dealer history
Only one previous owner
Supplied new Bentley Glasgow, from where current owner purchased it
Opulence is the name of the game here, and inside the GTC is every inch the luxury GT you expect it to be. It has Portland Beige leather sports seats and a walnut-faced dash, with titanium highlights around the air vents and gear selectors.
Beluga Black is one of the smartest colours for the GTC and manages to hide the car’s enormous bulk quite cleverly, the rounded lines and discreet colour making it appear smaller in the photos than it is in the metal.
It’s in great condition, with no notable damage or deterioration to the car’s bodywork at all – it’s spotless, having been garaged all its life and kept free from any sun or tree sap damage.
There’s a tiny mark on one rear quarter panel, but that’s as far as the external issues go – otherwise it’s totally straight and damage free. The underside has signs of surface corrosion but appears solid with no past MOT advisories. Em32CBfkZ8Cgep9XMqRM5s0f5VcErp4Y3CWyC23j.jpeg1.43 MB
THE MECHANICS
6.0-litre W12
Impeccable service history
Drives beautifully
The Bentley’s 552bhp W12 engine, developed from two VW V6s, is an incredible feat of engineering and sounds like nothing else when you open it up, yet at idle it’s so refined that its barely audible. It has been serviced by the same main dealers – Bentley Glasgow - other than for one inspection by a well-known independent Bentley specialist in Surrey, so it’s no surprise to find that it runs beautifully with all the fluids at the prescribed levels and no untoward noises.
This is a wonderful example of one of the most luxurious open-top GTs that money can buy, presented in absolutely fantastic order, with a deep shine and barely any marks or signs of exterior wear.
It’s a phenomenal amount of car for the money – but then so it should be as it was over £175,000 when new. Now’s your chance to own one of the finest cars ever made for a fraction of that price…
