The Appeal
The X350 was the last of a long line of classically styled Jaguars, but one that hid a secret: beneath the familiar lines it was all new, and it was advanced too thanks to the extensive use of lightweight aluminium. That innovation delivered a big car with the agility of a much smaller one.
The supercharged XJR maximised all that with its 400bhp, M5-bating pace. Towards the end of X356 production, prior to the new facelifted X358 arriving, Jaguar introduced the limited edition Portfolio version of the XJR. Just 300 were available worldwide, with 100 reserved for the UK. These cars can be identified by their 20in Callisto alloys, cream leather and polished mesh grilles.
The vendor bought this XJR Portfolio from a Jaguar enthusiast family in 2019. He immediately put it into dry storage. Since recommissioning in 2025 it has had over 200hrs of garage time expended upon it, work that has included fitting a fully stripped and rebuilt low mileage replacement engine, replacing the front and rear discs and pads and replacing the suspension wishbones. He has also topped up the extensive service records with a recent service in April 2026. The car will be sold with a new MOT.
This is a really tidy example of a rare XJR and one where you get to benefit from the investment by previous keepers.
The vendor says:
“This car is stunning inside and out, the supercharger whines nicely when you drive it fast and it has amazing acceleration. It looks and drives beautifully.”#
