The Appeal
Introduced in 1937 - and only in production until 1939 - the Austin Eighteen was a refined large saloon with plentiful passenger space and an improved driving position. The doors were wide, the ventilation was effective without causing draughts - naturally, it was perfect for an executive cab or limousine.
However, the war interrupted production, and only a very limited number were built. Eighty-five years later, this example may well be the last operable one in the country. Subject to an older restoration, and having been through multiple working lives, a bit of restoration is required to the paintwork - but it does little to detract from this undeniably scarce luxury car.
If you're seeking what may well be a unique motor vehicle, this is a superb opportunity.
