Introduced when Ford's Mercury decision was being orientated to take the fight to Studebaker and Buick, the Monterey was Mercury's top-of-the-line offering for 1952, and was immediately destined for big things. It was an enormous hit, and over twenty years managed to carve itself a hefty space as one of the most ubiquitous American motors of the decade.
Originally delivered to the EU - a rare provenance for many of these big American cars - this example went on to spend much of its life in Colombia, and has recently arrived in the Netherlands. We're told that it's in fine working order, and all duties and VAT have been paid. If you want a truly elegant American classic, this is an excellent opportunity.
