Over the years, the big coachbuilders, in addition to making grand tourers for an exclusive and wealthy clientele, have also created some less elite cars. Good examples are the Karmann Ghia, based on the Volkswagen Beetle, and this precious two-door coupé by Carrozzeria Vignale, built on the basis of the popular Fiat 600D.
As can be seen in the photographs, this example has been beautifully restored. We are told that it was found in a state of disrepair in 1998 and completely restored with great care to a very high standard. These cars are highly coveted by collectors, and we have been assured that this is one of the finest examples remaining.
