Very highly presented convertible with desirable spec
Repainted and professionally rust-treated in Cyprus in 2022
Classic red paintwork with white roof and interior
Fully retrimmed interior with high end Kenwood stereo
Believed owned for many years by leading member of Mustang Club America
The Appeal
As this 1968 convertible ably proves, there are Mustangs, and then there are Mustangs. What sets this car apart is the quality of its sympathetic restoration and the detailing, whether that’s the fabulous polished Magnum 500s or the classic red and white colour scheme.
The vendor acquired the car in 2017, prior to which it had lived in the USA and appears to have been owned by a leading member of the Mustang Club of America for many years. Since purchase, it has spent time in Cyprus, where it was fully resprayed, and some minor bodywork areas attended to. It has also received a full cabin retrim, now finished in white with red piping to suit the roof and paintwork.image.png1.45 MB
The car really is in very good order. It is also said to run and drive well and to be reliable. It retains the correct C-Code 289CI 4.7L V8 engine with factory 3spd auto but now runs Holley carburettors, a switch that improves reliability and fuel economy.
This is an extremely tidy and well-presented Mustang where someone else has put in all the hard work for you.
The vendor says:
“The vehicle is probably the best example in the UK for its age.”

The vendor says:
“Please bear in mind it is 68 years old and will have some issues that may need checking. For instance, the last time I drove the car the rev counter meter was displaying low revs then it would show correct revs, obviously an intermittent issue. The other problem that I noticed from the time I purchased the car was the inaccuracy of the fuel gauge, the car would run out of fuel even though the gauge would indicate a gallon or two of fuel still in the tank. I always kept the tank topped up as soon as the gauge was displaying quarter tank fuel available.”
