The Appeal
The genre-defining Land Rover’s influence on the world must not be underestimated. Besides the wartime Willys Jeep upon which it was modelled, the utilitarian ‘4x4’ was effectively an unknown concept until the Land Rover came on the scene.
Classic ‘Series’ examples are still immensely popular among enthusiasts and the Series IIA is a particular favourite. Here we have one of the most desirable of them all, a short-wheelbase home-market IIA with a canvas tilt - exactly the sort of Land Rover British farmers bought in period.
Supplied new via Green Motors Ltd of Haverfordwest, this Land Rover continues to reside in Wales. Besides the fact that its Bronze Green paintwork has recently been refinished, it otherwise remains highly original throughout, having accrued a charming patina to the controls and upholstery. Most notably, the chassis and bulkhead look exceedingly solid and have evidently been refinished to a high standard.
Exempt from road tax and MOT testing, this Land Rover is ready to enjoy.
