The Appeal
The MG B GT has long offered some of the best value in the classic world. Simple, usable, and unmistakably British, it’s the kind of car that makes sense whether you’re new to classics or already knee-deep in grease and Haynes manuals. With rugged reliability, excellent parts supply and being very easy to maintain, it is obvious why these hard top Bs are popular rallying and event entrants.
This 1970 example is pleasingly original and looks tidy and usable. Perfect, really, as a starter classic or rally competitor. It is one of the rare 'Mustang' grille cars that were built for just two years in the early 1970s. This car adds further interest by being fitted with the USA market 'impact' dashboard that delivers a more stylised, modern feel to the cabin.
With its practical coupe shape, wire wheels, and period styling, this B GT presents as a very usable example that wears its 50-plus years with grace.
