Extensively refurbished throughout current ownership
Rare factory automatic transmission
Great example in good highly original form
The Appeal
One of the most recognisable automobiles in history? Quite possibly.
The Volkswagen Type 2 is truly the physical form of the phrase cult classic. Building on the untold successes of its split screen forebear the Type 2 “Bay Window” as it is affectionately known paired simplistic design and no nonsense air cooled engineering to yet another legendary model. Exceptional versatility meant these T2s left the factory in a variety of forms to suit all sorts of needs, but perhaps the most popular, and recogniseable has to be the camper van.
There were of course many companies that performed camper conversions on these vans but the most prominent and desirable are arguably Westfalia. With Volkswagen contracting the German outfit to convert and fit out the vans directly from the factory.
A genuine factory Westfalia, this 1975 model stands as a great honest, highly original example of the beloved automotive icon. It presents in wonderful shape having been well loved and extensively refurbished throughout its current 13 year long stretch of ownership and is no doubt ready for many more years and miles of enjoyment and adventures.4TEPs99NJftxASu3AtgV38CM9RKwbY2ph00xMmLB.jpg1.22 MB
