Lots of old invoices, receipts and historic build records
THE APPEAL
It’s not often that we stop to photograph a car for our auction listings and no less than seven people stop to ask questions about it, but that’s exactly what happened in Essex suburbia when we were out in this incredible Trans Am.
Of the seven, three of them mentioned the iconic movie Smokey and the Bandit, but then it was Burt Reynolds that made the black Trans Am his own in what was one of the best-known road movies of all-time. Now, here’s your chance to experience the good ol’ American life, the money, the glory and the fun.
Imported to the UK in 1991 and wearing the famous Firebird livery on its bonnet, this is now your chance to own a car that’s steeped in movie history. Perfect for hiring out for weddings, stag weekends and prom nights, or simply enjoying for the glorious slice of Americana that it undoubtedly is.
And if you want to cruise along with rock’n’roll music blasting out the T-Top (Bruce Springsteen fans will get that reference), who are we to stop you?
Keep your foot hard on the pedal son, never mind them brakes. Let it all hang out, because we’ve got a run to make. Ten-four, we got a bandit on our tail…Phz4Y8wGYlMT66uOlg486YUiMSAtEAMoZuGwgN4l.jpg1.17 MB

This car pretty much speaks for itself – it’s a near exact replica of the very car that found silver screen fame in Smokey and the Bandit and is a truly brilliant example in lovely overall condition.
Not only is it an American legend and a car you can thoroughly enjoy, but it’s also in need of nothing – ready to show, or to put to work and make the most of that Hollywood iconography. Just be prepared to be asked lots of questions when it turns up in British suburbia. It’s that kind of car – and we love it for that very reason.
