The Appeal
If you're a classic car enthusiast, it's almost a dead-cert that you know the R107 500SL. The ultimate rendition of the roadster, these big boxy cars perfectly fit the zeitgeist upon release and managed to stay relevant for nearly twenty years.
This 1985 example is outright superb. Boasting a verified, remarkably low mileage of only 56,202 miles on the clock, this V8-powered beauty boasts its original paintwork, which has been very well preserved and is matched in kind by lovely, bright chromework. The car comes with a nicely-kept soft top and a superb hard top, to boot.
This 500SL is currently part of a classic car collection. Appropriately enough, it recently completed Britain's most scenic road trip - the North Coast 500. Its blend of comfort and practicality made it perfect for the trip we understand and it fulfilled touring duties without fault.
These cars are a mainstay of the classic market, and this is a simply excellent opportunity to find why.
