The Appeal
The Mulsanne appropriately recalled Bentley’s pre-war glory days at Le Mans because it signalled the return of the firm’s more sporting themes.
Alongside the Turbo R was the Mulsanne S, which got all the aesthetic enhancements - and sports suspension - of the forced induction model, but without the mechanical complexity. Just 909 SWB cars were built, making these simpler and arguably more reliable cars sought after by collectors.
Including this car. Currently owned by an enthusiast marque collector, it is in the sort of condition you would expect that to imply. Along with its previous keepers, he has maintained it to a very high standard, adding to the run of work by main dealers and franchised specialists. The history file shows 29 service stamps, most recently in October 2023 just 72 miles ago. There are a further 41 invoices covering work throughout the car’s life.
The MOT history supports the impression of a well-loved car: there has been just one minor advisory since 2005.
Finished in appealing College Blue with a Parchment leather interior, this is a one of the best presented and maintained Mulsanne’s we’ve seen in recent months. It is sold with MOT to November 2024. As with the previous tests it shows no advisories.
