The Bentley Turbo R was the successor to the Mulsanne Turbo. The R stood for “roadholding” to help differentiate it from the Mulsanne which had a somewhat relaxed ride. 

The Turbo R featured a raft of changes and upgrades that transformed handling on the road. This 89’ version includes fuel injection and anti lock brakes. The Turbo R was also the first Bently to feature alloy wheels and proved immensely popular.

Owned by HRH Ahmad Shah Sultan of  Pahang (and later King of Malaysia) this car is a chance to own a Bentley Turbo R truly fit for a king. The Sultan purchased the car used in 1992 from a Mr Trevor Cock and kept it in the country as his personal run-around for when he visited. 

It has had a few owners since and is now available once again for someone seeking some luxury motoring with a royal connection.

There is some history available including invoices for servicing up to 77k that verify the mileage, alongside the original owners manual and a copy of the V5 showing Sultan Ahmad Shah's ownership.

As with the interior of all Bentleys it is finished to an exceptional standard with leather seats in very good condition and full walnut trim.

The stripe stripe on the side could do with some attention as shown in the images and there are a couple of spots where there is evidence of someone having polished a little too enthusiastically, however we feel that this doesn’t detract from the overall fantastic presentation of this car which looks great and still makes an impression.

This car has been very well looked after and it really shows. The car sounds beautiful starting up and with the exception of the cruise control everything works as it should. 

With a rumble from the 6.75L V8 the car springs to life and it really goes for a car of this size and weight. With four new tires, new front discs and pads and a recent full service this car is ready for the road.
