The Appeal
Buying a Citroen 2CV was a bold choice in 1989, yet demand remained high because nothing else quite delivered the same mix of quirk, character and style. Sales were boosted by the Dolly, the distinctive two-tone model that proved so popular it evolved from a March 1985 special edition into a range staple.
The single keeper of this Blanc Meije and Rouge Vallelunge Dolly bought it in January 1989 and has apparently covered less than 65,000 miles since, according to the odometer. He has dialled up the character with some interesting stickers that reflect its interesting 38-year life. It is a complete, presentable and unrestored example with the option to leave most of the cosmetics ‘as is’ or use it as the basis for restoration.
This much-loved car has been little used since the last MOT in February 2023, so buyers should factor in some recommissioning and check the photos carefully to assess the mechanical and structural condition.
