Original carpets remain wonderful, no fading is present of the vibrant red colour and no damage to be reported
Passenger side C-pillar plastics show some signs of light scratching
A Sony head unit has been fitted to introduce some modern comforts
Boot compartment shows some gentle signs of age as to be expected, but remains excellent shape with no rust underneath
Headlining remains original and reportedly in fantastic shape with no sagging present

Alpine white paintwork presented excellently throughout
Recent professional paint job after some rust rectification, done perfectly in the original vehicle colour
Original plastic mouldings appear with some very gentle age related markings such as a small crack noticed on the passenger side rear corner, however all retain an excellent deep black sheen
Headlights, lower lamps and tail lights are all excellently kept with no signs of any damage present, and they all function as you would expect
Body panels all appear straight and true with no signs of any damage, and all of the shut lines appear to be of factory fitment
Alloys are very handsomely presented with no kerb marks in sight, and all shod in Nankang rubber dated 2022 with excellent tread
Original 1.6 GTI mouldings in the rear quarter panels are present and show fantastic condition
Rear badge designations present with wonderful definition
Rubber window seals all appear to be in good health with no signs of cracks or drying out that we can spot
The Mechanics
1,580cc four cylinder petrol engine with whipcrack throttle response
Producing a very healthy 108bhp and 101 lb-ft after a recent engine tune and dyno run, proving a very well maintained engine up front
Manual transmission remains in excellent health, with confidence inspiring gear shifts with no unwelcome clunking or whining
Front-wheel drive configuration
Steering remains excellent with fantastic driver engagement and admirable road feel
Recent MOT shows a clean pass with no advisory notices, thanks to the current keeper having the vehicle mechanically sorted
