The Appeal
It seems that when it came to fulfilling engineering objects, the sole focus for the R129’s team was to build a grand tourer as relaxing as it is reliable. Arguably one of Bruno Sacco’s finest designs, including those classic ‘Sacco Planks’ these durable cars are a perennial of the classic scene because they are so usable.
The 500SL got the firm’s V8 M119 322bhp engine, sufficient to munch miles and devour continents with ease. The handful of keepers over this tidy Brilliant Silver 500SL’s 37 years have somehow managed to resist that, keeping the mileage down to under 70,000 miles, which is barely run in for one of these cars.
