The Appeal

As the last model released by Alfa Romeo before Fiat took ownership in 1986, the aptly-named 75 commemorated three-quarters of a century in automobile manufacture and had its sights set on the burgeoning compact executive car market. Praised for its near-perfect fore-aft weight distribution and capable powertrains, the 75 sold well and remains a popular classic Alfa.

This 1992 Twin-Spark-engined 75 Veloce stands out because of its originality, spending much of its life garaged, carefully maintained and used sparingly. The vendor understands that it was previously owned for over two decades by the President of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club UK. The car then sat unused for a couple of years which led it to degrade slightly, so specialists ‘Fostering Classics’ carried out significant recommissioning bringing it up to a very high standard.

New floor mats fitted in the past and are still in great shape

Keen to highlight even the slightest imperfections, the vendor points out a minor dent on the roof, a slight split in the offside wind deflector and some slight sagging to the headlining
A small repair has been carried out neatly to the boot floor, just above the fuel tank
The front Veloce bumper houses foglamps are discreet later editions using genuine Alfa Romeo/Hella units
The headlamps are original Carello units and in very good order with just the smallest corrosion patch inside the nearside unit caused by condensation
