The Appeal
TRhe W140 600SEC was Mercedes-Benz’ technological tour de force. It is arguably the high point of the time when the company was led by engineers rather than those with a more pragmatic approach to the cost/benefit equation. The whole W140 S-Class project cost Mercedes £1 billion.
This flagship car featured the firm’s 6L 400bhp M120 V12 plus the sort of luxury technology driven by the word ‘effortless.’ Whatever can be powered by electrics or pneumatics in this low-mileage Signal Red car, is. And it all works perfectly, but then those engineers made sure it would.
The vendor acquired this car in 2022 and has used it sparingly. UK MOT and DVLA records show only six registered keepers and low documented mileage. The low use pays off in the condition, with the bodywork and interior showing few signs of its 32 years.
If you want to sample the high water mark of Mercedes engineering era then the W140 600SEC it. These are rare cars and this is one looks impressive.
