The Appeal

In the 1990s BMW was on a serious roll with cars like the E36, E34 and E32 being the benchmark for their respective sectors. But it was the E31 8-Series that set the standard within the firm’s own model range, showing the way with a tech-heavy approach that made it arguably one of the greatest grand tourers of its era.

Due to that sophistication, the trick when buying a E31 is to find one that has been looked after and, ideally, left as standard. This car is both. It is a low keeper, low mileage 840CI that is remarkably well preserved, including in the usual E31 check areas. It is a handsome car too, painted dark blue metallic with a really smart grey leather cabin.
