Highlights
- A Mini in the rare British Open Classic special version
- It has always stayed in a location with a dry and mild climate
- Single owner since new
- The mechanics have been thoroughly maintained, documented by receipts
The Attractions
Most special editions of the Mini offered no more than a few minor details and differed little from the base model, from which they featured a few more stickers and perhaps slightly different interior trim. For this reason, the arrival of a truly different and special version, which really changed the character of the iconic British hatchback, caused quite a stir.
To worthily celebrate the Mini's 30th anniversary, a number of special editions were produced: one of these was the British Open Classic. It featured a spectacular full-length sunroof. In order to fit it, the car was stiffened and reinforced so as not to compromise the Mini's legendary road-holding characteristics and rigidity, and to leave the driving experience unchanged despite the removal of a significant part of its structure.
This beautiful Open Classic has had only one owner since purchase: it was a Christmas present for his wife. Since 2004 it has been personally maintained by its owner, a Mini enthusiast who has owned numerous examples, and is in very good and extremely original condition.
