Motorsport legend, Hollywood star and all-round automotive icon, Toyota’s A80 Supra has to be one of the most recognisable and sought-after vehicles of the last 30 years.

Developed under the guidance of chief engineer Isao Tsuzuki, the fourth-generation Supra was unlike anything Toyota had produced before. Its aerodynamic, lightweight body and high-performance over-engineered running gear were designed with one thing in mind, speed. With features such as an aluminium wishbone, gas-filled rear spoiler, specially produced hollow carpet fibres and a magnesium steering wheel, the Supra was built to be a light, fast, high-speed performer, which helped it dominate in various elements of the motorsport world.

From drag racing to touring championships, drifting events to Le Mans, the Supra became a notorious name achieving podium after podium yet this success never seemed to broaden into the retail world. Sales at the time were mediocre, largely due to the struggling economy and the cars' hefty price tag, which eventually led to sales in the UK stopping in 1996 and production coming to an end in 1998.

Its appearance in the Hollywood racing blockbuster The Fast & Furious in 2001 brought attention back and reminded everyone of its immense capabilities, reigniting its name and positioning it as one of the most loved tuner cars in the scene. Its fame since has only grown, with enthusiasts globally increasingly falling for its sweeping, seductive appearance and incredible performance. With the increase in popularity, good, well-cared-for original examples are becoming harder and harder to locate, which makes this 1994 UK spec Supra a very attractive opportunity.

One of the very few UK spec Supras that made it onto the roads, this Excellently presented, highly original car has benefited from extensive care over the years, especially in its current ownership, where it has been owned by an enthusiast and former Toyota technician. Benefiting from a respray in its original Rosso Red and regular mechanical maintenance this Supra is accompanied by a large folder of maintenance plus its original service portfolio.

Inside the Supra, sporty luxury is combined with purposeful function. There is some sign of usage present, most noticeable on the gear lever and passenger door car. The leather trim however is in good condition, with only the smallest usage present. Inspired by motorcycle and aircraft design, the Supra is logically laid out with switches and controls sensibly positioned for effortless input from the driver. It's a wonderful environment purposely designed to ensure the performance of the car can be completely controlled without exhaustive effort.

From its immediately recognisable rear end, its stunning sweeping body and exceptional poised stance, the Supra is a sublime, enchanting car that flirts its capability in the most captivating way. Presented in what we believe to be the best factory colour, Rosso Red, this Supra has benefited from prior windows out respray to its original colour which also included replacement trims and badges.

There are some blemishes present, most noticeable on the near side rear, a couple of marks on the roof plus a few stone chips to the front bumper which we have done our best to photograph, there are also some imperfections visible within the rear taillights. Its attractive, provocative appearance wowed critics at its reveal back in the 90s and to this day it continues to bewitch onlookers.

The Supra's legendary status wouldn’t exist without its reputation for being an incredible performance machine. Its famed 3.0L 2JZ engine is powerful, robust and can be extensively modified to produce some insane benchmarks, with reports of some being tuned to produce over 1000bhp.

This example is very much original, being maintained regularly with genuine parts used wherever possible. It has recently benefited from service and its 8th consecutive advisory-free MOT. During our visit the car was driven and manoeuvred multiple times, starting and stopping without issue or concerning noises. Upon ignition, it springs to life, providing a sumptuous soundtrack that intensifies as the revs climb, encouraging further foot-down thrill.

Underappreciated during its heyday, the Supra has since become one of the most recognisable, adored and sought-after cars ever to be produced. Its Hollywood stardom, motorsport triumphs and continuous enthusiast admiration have propelled the car to an elite level and its desirability seems to grow year on year.
