The Appeal

The History and Paperwork

• Rolling off the production line in August 1994 this Golf has lived an easy life
• Its first owner wouldn’t hold on to it for too long 
• It would then find its way to its current household 
• The car has always been kept in the garage when at home
• There is some paperwork in the folder 
• These reference new batteries, MOT certificates, and any remedial works needed 
• It got a clean MOT on 30/01/2023
• You can now benefit from almost a full year of MOT 
• The all-important V5 is also present in the current owner’s name

The Interior

• The simple cloth interior is presented very well for its age 
• Its seats are finished in an eye-catching pattern 
• In the front, the seats are in great condition, showing little to no signs of their age
• The rear bench seat is also in very good condition 
• All of the black plastic trim is in great condition 
• Importantly the black dashboard shows no signs of cracking
• Its Sony radio does not work, but single-din radios are easy to source 
• The carpets have been protected by the thick, VW-embossed, rubber mats 
• This example is fitted with an electric sunroof 
• Tested on the day, the sunroof works as it should do 
• On the ceiling, the headliner is in lovely condition 
• It is said that the central locking works fine with the key but not working on the buttons
• The current owner has had the alarm disconnected due to the central locking fault
• In the boot, you’ll find a relatively large load space
• Under the floor, you’ll find a space saver tyre and the original toolkit 
• The tool kit looks like it has never been used 
• Overall, the interior of this Golf is in very good visual condition 

The Exterior 

• Externally this Golf looks to also be in good condition 
• The fetching purple paintwork has stood the test of time
• There are a few age related, car park scuffs and scraps 
• With also some slight bubbling to the driver’s side sill
• Other than these areas the exterior looks very good 
• Its four Sports Rader alloys are in good condition 
• The Driver variant received similar styling to the GTI
• Its subtle chin spoiler and rear wing are evidence of this sporty styling 
• The headlights and rear light clusters all appear to be void of cracking/damage 
• Overall, this is a good looking car in a very nice colour

The Mechanics 

• Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 1.8l engine 
• It feeds this power through a 5-speed manual gearbox
• Meaning this should be a fun hatchback to drive 
• If you’re after a cheap run around with a bit of character this will be great
• Since new this car has only covered 41,000 that’s very low for one of these
• It recently received a new MOT 
• There was a slight noise on full lock, but this is not reported to be an issue 
• Its peppy engine and manual gearbox should give you a fun drive
