The Appeal
Those who remember the TWR Super Touring 850 Estates racing in '90s BTCC will know just how capable these Volvos are. The T-5R was a special limited edition model based upon the 850 Turbo. An additional 2 PSI of boost gave the car 243 horsepower. And don't be fooled by its boxy estate car aesthetics; the T-5R had a slippery 0.29 drag coefficient, making it real 'sleeper' in its day.
This 1995 example is resplendent in the most iconic of all T-5R liveries - Cream Yellow. It's a Japanese market car in right-hand drive, avoiding the UK's salty, potholed roads and imported in 2025. As the photographs show, it has really benefited from its life in central Japan and the vendor assures us the car is entirely rust-free. The Volvo also remains factory standard and unmodified, even down to the exhaust!
