The Appeal
The hallmark, the flag bearer, genesis of the cool estate car. Could it be anyone other than Volvo? The marque has been leading the way in the world of estate cars since the early 1950s and arguably their biggest hit was the 850 T5-R.
Finding fame on the British touring car circuit, the roadgoing turbocharged 5 cylinder T5-R combined impressive power figures with comfort and legendary Volvo safety and reliability, all within one effortlessly cool, boxy package.
In recent years the T5-R has soared to new highs, with demand for good examples through the roof. With the model being a one year only run, good cars are in short supply, none more so than the factory yellow cars such as the one we see here, with just 1500 yellow examples being made worldwide, and just a handful of those being original UK cars.
N877 GNP is a truly wonderful example of the model.
