The Appeal
The earliest examples of Jaguar’s svelte X100 XK are now 25 years old, making them bonafide classics. A perfect time, then, to discover this remarkable XKR.
It has covered a mere 22,000 documented miles in its 26 years, which surely makes it one of the least-used and best-preserved of these increasingly popular coupes. Certainly, it feels like a future show star.
Finished in Sapphire Blue with an Oatmeal leather interior, it sits on purposeful 20in bolted five spokes. The condition is exactly as you would expect of a well-cared-for car that has been barely used by its trio of keepers. The current keeper acquired it earlier this year, intending to keep it, but circumstances have regrettably changed.
That creates a great opportunity for the discerning collector. The XKR delivers a particularly Jaguar-esque blend of supercharged, supercar-bating 400bhp performance mixed with characterful luxury. Just look at that dashboard, fashioned as it is to replicate the Spitfire wings built in the same factory during World War II.
With its recent service and a fresh, advisory-free MOT, this is one of the best examples of the early XKR we’ve seen in recent times.

- Exterior fittings including glassworks, chrome and lights in good, undamaged order
- Fitted with purposeful optional five-spoke bolted split-rim 20in alloy wheels
- The rims are in good order with only light blemishes to note in photographs
- Quality Pirelli tyres fitted all round showing good condition and remaining tread
- Oatmeal leather interior in very good order with only the very lightest signs of use
- This includes, for transparency, a tiny area of bolster wear to driver’s seat
- Remaining cabin fittings and switchgear in very good, barely used condition
